Intermountain Gas Company (IGC) is the local natural gas distribution company in Southern Idaho. The company was founded in 1950 by a local Boise couple. In 2008, IGC became a wholly owned subsidiary of MDU Resources Group (NYSE: MDU), headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota. Intermountain serves approximately 365,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in 75 communities across Southern Idaho from the Oregon to Wyoming borders, across the Snake River plain.
