About the Workshop
New to MS Project or need a refresher on how to schedule effectively? This focused 4-hour MS Project 1: Introduction to MS Project workshop is designed to get you up and running with the fundamentals of the software while emphasizing industry best practices for building and managing project schedules.
Through step-by-step instruction and hands-on exercises, you’ll learn how to navigate MS Project with confidence, create and organize tasks, and build a basic project schedule. The workshop will also cover how to apply scheduling best practices to real-world scenarios, as well as how to update and share your schedule effectively with your team.
Series Outcomes:
- Review of basic scheduling terminology
- Create and update a sample project in MS Project
- Apply best practices for schedule development
Who Should Attend:
Project managers, assistant project managers, project engineers, owners, executives, project administrators, or anyone who needs to make or update schedules and is NEW to using MS Project.
**Participants must have access to either the desktop or web version of the MS Project software before the class starts.
Technology and Participation
AGC Edge live virtual courses bring the education to you and your team – wherever you are! People attend from their job sites, in their work trucks, at home, in the office, in a conference room, etc. As long as there is internet, you are good to go! We’ve compiled the below list to help you understand how to best participate in the course.
For the classroom:
- Please have Zoom downloaded.
- Computer with dual monitor preferred.
- Laptop is good with a separate tablet to access the materials.
For participation:
- Camera, either built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.
- Headphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred
- Computer/device mic and speakers are ok if in private, quiet room.
- Each student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet, if possible. This will aid in learning and working within breakout groups during the course.
- Ensure that MS Project software is installed, up-to-date, and logged in.

Cancellation Policy:
A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to meetings[@]agc.org.
AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.
