    About the Course

    Planning and Scheduling: Blueprint for Success 
    Effective planning and scheduling are the backbone of any successful construction project. The Planning and Scheduling unit in AGC’s Supervisory Training Program, 10th edition equips you with the technical skills necessary to ensure your projects run smoothly from start to finish. The highly collaborative virtual program provides instruction via Zoom and is best suited for anyone on a construction jobsite in a supervisory role – from the new supervisor or foreman to the experienced superintendent who is looking to become a more effective manager of people, time, equipment and materials.

    • Comprehensive Project Planning: Learn how to meticulously plan every aspect of your project. From initial concept to final completion, understand how to create detailed project plans that anticipate challenges and streamline operations.
    • Utilizing Schedules: Discover how to develop and manage project schedules that communicate your plan clearly to all stakeholders. Learn techniques to track progress, adjust timelines, and ensure timely project completion.
    • Tracking Progress: Master the tools and methods for monitoring project milestones and performance. Gain insights into identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions to keep your project on track.

    STP Learning Objectives

    This course is 1 of 6 units in the newly updated Supervisory Training Program (STP); a construction-specific training curriculum developed, updated and field-tested by and for contractors. Supervisory skill—or the lack of it—directly affects every company’s bottom line. You make your money in the field, and STP can help you improve your organization’s bottom line.

    After completing the course, AGC Edge students receive a Certificate of Completion and a digital badge to share.

    Technology and Participation

    For the classroom:

    • Please have Zoom downloaded.
    • Computer with dual monitor preferred.
    • Laptop is good with a separate tablet to access their etextbook.
    • Tablet or phone is ok with hardcopy textbook
    • Two mobile devices ok – one for the meeting and one for the etextbook

    For participation:

    • Camera, either built in or added on and ready to stream to the classroom.
    • Headphones or earbuds with microphones are preferred
    • Computer/device mic and speakers are ok if in private, quiet room.
    • Each student should be on their own computer/laptop/tablet, if possible.

    Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to meetings[@]agc.org.

    Transfer Policy: All transfers must be to courses starting within 90 days of the original course start date. Send transfer requests to meetings[@]agc.org. 

    AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.

    Owner, Build Your Know LLC

    Daphene is passionate about developing workforce in the construction industry by increasing individual expertise. Daphene has been teaching AGC courses since 2000. She brings over 20 years of construction industry experience on commercial and industrial projects. While a professor at Purdue University in the School of Construction Management professor she partnered with contractors for research in the development, facilitation and  assessment of training. She currently teaches virtual, hybrid and in seat courses in Project Management, Field Supervision and Construction technical areas.
