#SafetyWeek2024 has come and now triumphantly rides off into the sunset, most importantly, its message is here to stay. This was an incredible week filled with valuable lessons, good food, t-shirts, and celebrations.   We're incredibly grateful for everyone's participation and are committed to continuing to spread the word. Our industry can only be successful if everyone is included. We need to create opportunities for all team members to speak up and let us know how we can improve.   Shoutout to Tony Wright, Director of DES - Facilities Management Division at King County. Thank you for coming out and speaking to our Harborview Team! Thank you all for your support, and please continue with us on our journey to Value Every Voice!

Our team at University of Washington Bothell had an awesome turnout today! We loved seeing all of our trade partners in one room to celebrate #SafetyWeek2024. With so many team members on-site, it's important to hear EVERY voice on the team. Thank you to all of our sponsors who donated to the raffle - we had some seriously lucky winners in that group! Auburn Mechanical, Inc., Bergelectric, Fairweather Masonry, United Rentals, Axiom Design Build, Northwest Construction, Sustainable Interiors, Masco Masons Supply, Barnhart Crane & Rigging, PSA

Hello from Western Oregon University! Our team is excited to show off their #SafetyWeek2024 banner. The team is working on the steam tunnel construction and steam service replacement on campus. Today's theme is Encourage and Welcome New Ideas. We do everything as a team, and every individual has a voice at Andersen – in safety planning, meetings, on our job sites, and more. Open conversation and collaboration are important for strengthening our teams.

We are kicking off Construction Safety Week 2024 with Day 1 in our Boise Region! Today at the Caldwell Medical Office Building, Shur-Sales & Marketing demonstrated the importance of fall protection. Caldwell Project team members shared their thoughts on today's theme, Strengthen our Culture, and discussed driving personal ownership in their environment and with safety. Thank you to Elevate Academy Culinary Arts students who prepared and served lunch, and to the construction students who joined the stand-down. Overall today was an excellent start to Construction Safety Week by building confidence and recognizing responsibility in every team member. This was a PPE-free zone event with high school students in attendance.

Day three is complete at the South Africa Nourish Eco-Village 2 Build and we’re thrilled to share that we finished pouring all three foundations! Fun Facts: • 1,128 wheelbarrows of concrete were lifted and poured. • Around 52 yards were poured in total and only 15 were delivered in concrete trucks – the rest was hand mixed! • We hired 21 local laborers, 7 of which included returning laborers from our 2023 build. • The grannys prepared meals each day, which included “pup” or maize meal, a staple of the bush that is consumed with every meal. They also prepared a daily delicious vegetable using veggies grown in the Nourish garden and a protein of some kind (typically chicken or beef). It was wonderful to see our friends on the Nourish team and work alongside a team of fantastic locals. Shoutout to the Andersen team – Kevin, Russ, JJ, Alison, and Ryan for making the big trip and working their tails off! We can’t wait to bring a team back in August.   Thanks for following along. More to come this summer!

    S. Africa Nourish Project – Concrete Pour Day 2 Update! It was another busy day at the Nourish job site! Today we placed around 31 yards of concrete amid sporadic rain showers. And while the Andersen team felt right at home, the local workers bundled up and were not too thrilled about the weather.   Despite the weather, it was another successful day and everyone on site worked incredibly hard. We made substantial progress, and we might even be running ahead of schedule!   Watch today's job site update from Joel below:

    S. Africa Nourish Project – Concrete Pour Day 1 Update! We’re back on the ground in South Africa to work with our nonprofit partner Nourish!   This week we brought a specialized Andersen concrete team to pour the foundations for the Nourish II Eco Village in preparation for our build in August.   The goal is to pour three foundations totaling 45 yards of concrete. The building plan this summer includes a hospitality training room, craft center, tourist information center, and café/bakery.   Check out this new job site update from Joel Andersen below and learn more about Nourish here: https://lnkd.in/g4Wk-vmQ
