This event is one-of-a-kind, where Students can learn, Contractors can teach, and Sponsors can help the community grow!
WHAT IS THE CONSTRUCTION COMBINE?
Inspired by the NFL draft, the Construction Combine is a collaborative effort between educational institutions, local construction contractors, and community members to develop a strong construction labor force. There are three main participants in the Construction Combine.
STUDENTS: Students participate by learning new skills and gaining a greater understanding of the construction trades.
CONTRACTORS: Contractors provide hands-on training in their trade.
SPONSORS: Sponsors contribute generous donations to the Idaho AGC Education Foundation to provide materials and equipment for the Construction Combine and other construction workforce development efforts. Sponsors may also choose to host a booth for Trades Day to showcase their company and provide hands-on demonstrations of their trades.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CONSTRUCTION COMBINE?
This event takes place over 2 days:
DAY 1 - Trades Day: Students demonstrate their skills and learn new skills in a round-robin format, visiting booths showcasing different trades in the construction industry. This is a great opportunity for contractors and students to discuss future employment opportunities.
DAY 2: Students work with local contractors constructing sheds, which are then donated to local veterans. The Construction Combine is a great opportunity to strengthen the building industry and create the next generation of builders!
