Big Wood Cabinets

My wife and I spent couple hours with Jenni yesterday She is FANTASTIC. We were very honest and told her we planned use her to look at stuff and pick brains but doubted we would buy anything. She never promoted or pushed anything but answered questions and pointed out challenges we not thought of. AND we aren't newbies. We have had 4 kitchens done in remodels and new custom houses and kind of know the program and what we' need and like and what we value. She was just great. So great we almost turned the planning to her and have a preliminary quote and will likely get a design from her and we hope be able to buy from her. As for work, quality etc I just hope they are as good as her

At first, these guys were fantastic. On time, straight forward, no BS.
As time went by, more and more "complications" arose none of which seemed to be their doing.
Due to inept communication, the slab of granite we had picked out somehow ended up in someone else's kitchen. We had already waited several weeks longer than we were supposed to originally, and now....... We'll add an additional 10 weeks.
We had an appointment for their install crew to come and install the counters. That was between 9-10 in the morning. After waiting the entire day with not do much as a phone call, we decided to give up and go eat. As we were leaving, they're install pulled up in front of our home. The two guys got out of the truck and said we're here to install your counters. This was about 6:30 in the p.m. When I asked you to where the hell they had been and why we receive no notification they said that they were in McCall finishing up a job and that they were busy. They figured that we would be around when they showed up and that we wanted to counters installed bad enough that we would like to go ahead and do it. I told them to pack her crap up and get out of there and reschedule, we were done for the day.
Finally the day of installation came. After several hours of working on putting the counters in the kitchen, they had left telling us the job was finished. Standing in the kitchen looking down on the countertops I about fell over. Being a contractor I have an eyeball for lines and such, however, one does not need to be a Carpenter to see how bad of a screwup this was. What was supposed to be a 90° angle cut ended up being a 97° angle cut. When we spoke to Big Wood Cabinets they sent the rep out to take a look. Of course she tried to come up with all kinds of roundabout excuses and reasons why it was the way it was the bottom line it was screwed up. He was Going to check in to finding out about having it replaced. After several days of negotiating back-and-forth he asked if we would be willing to except the countertop as it was and reduce the price for doing so. We agreed telling him that we would like at least a 20% reduction on the price of a granite slab that was miss cut and looks well looks terrible. That was agreed.
Looking further into it not only was the countertop miss kit for the cabinets were installed just a little bit out of square as you can see in the pictures. These guys are supposed to be professionals?During the installation process of the cabinets, we had noticed flaws in the faces of the drawers and cabinet doors. Some were warped, some had chips taken out of them. Every time we inquired about such we were told to go ahead and wait until the end and we would do a final walk-through and then submit a claim under the warranty for the damage pieces and they would replace those parts.
Well 7-8 months past the finish time of the cabinet installation and countertops we still have received no discount on the countertop after paying full price and we have received no parts or pieces to replace those damaged ones or defective ones. When calling Big Wood Cabinets we are told basically to shove it and they weren't going to do anything about it.
You can see in the pictures how bad some of the damage was. Would you accept this in your home for all the money they charge? Wells Farfound one of our brand-new kitchen towels watered up underneath one of the cabinets looking like this.
Bottom line these guys don't stand behind their word for a damn thing. They are liars and they're cheats.
Not the kind of business dealing I would expect from a fellow native Idahoan.

We received numerous designs/estimates from others including big box stores and private contractors, and picked BWC because Monte was so wonderful to work with, and gave us a fantastic price for the amazing quality we wanted.

The process was smooth and so easy, Jessica was always prompt to get back to us with any questions we had, and the schedule was laid out and right on time.

The crew that did the demo was fast and left the area cleaner than when they started. Alex and his assistant James, did all the install and finish work, and we could not have asked for nicer or more talented men. Every last detail was meticulous. They showed up every day, and swept the area clean every night before they left. The handwork is stunning.

This wasn't our first experience with remodeling, but it was certainly our very best one, and we can highly recommend this great team! We love everything about our new kitchen, and are thrilled with the process and the result.

Big Wood Cabinets did all of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets in our new Garden Valley home. They did an awesome job! Not only are they very competitive but they go out of their way to make sure that everything is done correctly and finished beautifully. We would highly recommend them!

I worked with Kyle and Jessica to get a counter top installed and they were both fabulous! The whole process was done from picking out stone to installation in less than a month and we love our countertops!! Everyone was friendly and professional. Absolutely recommend Big Wood!

We came in to the showroom for a new set of kitchen cabinets and gave Monte our details and time frame. He promised to prepare a plan and come out to measure our kitchen in the following week. We never heard from him again. Months went by. Typical behavior I guess when you have plenty of business you can be disrespectful to customers. Needless to say we went to a competitor and were taken care of promptly.

My wife and I just bought a place in Meridian and one of the first things we want to do is replace the existing kitchen cabinets. I came across Big Woods and decided to go check them out for the project. Upon arriving at their shop we were greeted by their friendly staff who seemed to have a genuine interest in helping us figure out what would work best for us and our project. I felt like they genuinely cared and were not trying to just make another sale. They showed us around their shop where they make the cabinets and we discussed several different design options. Their estimator that came out to our house and did all the measurements was very knowledgeable and professional as well. To say the least, we were very impressed and will be using them for our project. We can't wait to see the finished product.

We decided to update our kitchen after being in our home for 25 years! We decided to use Big Wood Cabinets and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision! They helped with the whole process step by step! We even decided to do granite countertops and they helped with that process as well! They were friendly and eager to help and answered any and all questions we had! There sub contractors are great as well! Very professional!! We plan on using Big Wood Cabinets in the future!! We highly recommended them!!

Monte and his crew are really great! We had big wood cabinets come out and do our kitchen remodel one year ago. We completely demolished the previous kitchen and came up with a design idea and approached Monte on the potential open kitchen concept.
We had them come out and put in our new island with a deep prep sink plus our cabinets along the wall with our new Kohler farm style sink and cabinets along a different wall with our new double convection oven. Monte lined everything up perfectly (one wall with a Narnia cabinet opening) and worked pretty well with our granite company that we had chosen. He even had his cabinet maker come out and redo the crown above our cabinets two times as we noticed an imperfection. These guys are top notch and we are so thankful for them and the reasonable price. I'm going to reach out to them soon and thank them again and also follow up as we have a bracket that broke which I am more than positive they will replace as they stand by their service. It is great to have such good people in the construction business that truly take care of their customers! Thank you for doing it and being great about completing it within our time constraints. Kitchen remodel was great with their crew!

I remodeled my kitchen myself. This company was a great resource for both the cabinets and the counter tops. They were always available for any questions and their installation crew was top notch. The initial design process was smooth and I received great advice. I highly recommend this company.
