ACCO is known as a one-stop-shop for all mechanical system needs, including design, engineering, fabrication, installation and service. Our vast array of capabilities wouldn’t be complete without our Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (#TAB) team. Meet Amber Kelly, ACCO’s TAB Area Supervisor, who has been a part of #TeamACCOES for nearly 24 years! 10 years after beginning her career in mechanical service, Amber became NEBB Certified and transitioned to supervising TAB technicians and projects. After receiving her NEBB Supervisor Certification, Amber began volunteering with NEBB and joined the local Board of Directors, later becoming NEBB Director and the organization's first female President. Amber understands the importance of TAB in ensuring occupants' comfort and safety. “One of our roles is to make sure the correct amount of air is being served to avoid temperature issues and to be able to maintain a comfortable space environment, but it goes further than that,” explains Amber. “Our scope in office-type environments would be to verify ventilation rates and that total air and water flows are set correctly. In lab spaces, confirming the proper air changes and pressure relationships are being met is vital to the protection of lab users, as well as the products and research projects. Assessing your facility is a great start to see how your building is performing.” Have concerns about your facility? ACCO can help! Last weekend, ACE Mentor Los Angeles/Orange County held their annual Build Day event, where more than 200 high school students had an opportunity to get hands-on trade experience and contribute to a great cause. This year, the incredible ACE students built 22 unique playhouses that will be donated to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. We were so impressed by the students’ creativity and hard work! A huge shout out to the committee chair, Vienna Gonzales, and the whole Build Day Committee from PCL Construction, Swinerton, Turner Construction Company, and Suffolk Construction. We appreciate the opportunity to partner on important events like these and were happy to host this year’s event at ACCO's Goodrich facility. For more information on how to get involved with the ACE Mentor program, visit: https://acementorla.org/

At ACCO, safety is part of our DNA! That's often easier said than done. It requires initiative and alignment from individuals across a company making proactive efforts to not only look out for themselves and their coworkers, but fellow tradespeople and those around them.  This was recently demonstrated by ACCO's Easton Campbell, Devon Heath, and Noah Sena. While working on a NorCal project, Easton, Devon, and Noah witnessed an employee from another trade lose their balance and fall from the roof. Thankfully, their safety harness prevented severe tragedy, but they were left dangling above the ground. In a proactive display of teamwork, these three gentlemen quickly sprang into action. Noah grabbed a ten-foot ladder, while Easton and Devon provided support to relieve pressure from the harness and assisted the individual to solid ground. Their expedient efforts made a big difference and earned them well-deserved recognition from the project team. This incident serves as a powerful reminder of the significance of safety training and preparedness on the job site. We are grateful to have these individuals a part of #TeamACCOES.

At ACCO, our employees are the "how" and the "why" behind our success. Their expertise, dedication, and commitment to excellence make us the premier choice for mechanical contracting and facility service. Meet Paolo Burgos, a Fresno-based HVAC Facility Service Technician who has been an influential member of #TeamACCOES for six and a half years. Like his counterparts, Paolo has been extensively trained and equipped to handle mechanical equipment of all types and sizes and specializes in light commercial systems that are found throughout ACCO's footprint, especially in California's Central Valley. Paolo has dedicated himself to understanding the unique requirements of light commercial facilities and has proven to be a leader in identifying solutions that will best fit the specific needs of the facilities he works in. When asked about the most common issue he encounters with light commercial facilities, Paolo emphasized the absence of preventive maintenance on critical equipment as the root cause for many costly problems. "Preventive maintenance is often underestimated, yet its impact on the system is undeniable," explains Paolo. "Without regular maintenance, repairs become more expensive and time-consuming. Recurring scheduled maintenance allows building owners and managers to benefit from regular inspection and upkeep of their mechanical systems. This proactive approach helps to identify potential issues early on and ultimately saves time and money when service or repair is required." We'd like to thank Paolo for his continued dedication to providing the best light commercial facility service in the Central Valley.
